Provisional Itinerary April 7th - 14th, 2024
Weather in the French Riviera region in April ranges from the low 50’s to the mid 60’s. Dress is “casual smart” in town and at the tennis and a bit more formal for evening dinners where jackets are suggested for men. The names of the restaurants (three dinners and a lunch) added to this itinerary may change once everything is finalized.
Sunday, April 7th
Welcome to the French Riviera! Known the world over for its glamour and beauty.
Upon arrival at Nice International Airport, you’ll be met and greeted by your driver in the Baggage Claim area. Your driver will be holding a sign with your name and will gladly help you with your bags before transporting you in a comfortable sedan or van, depending on the size of your party. The commute to the Metropole Hotel in Monte Carlo is approximate 25 minutes.

10:30 a.m. Each morning after your breakfast at the hotel, we’ll meet in the lobby and make our way to the Monte Carlo Country Club, site of the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters. Guests can choose to take a quick shuttle ride transfer from the hotel or enjoy the approximate one mile stroll.
Center Court matches at the Monte Carlo Open begin at 11:30 a.m. with play generally ending around 4-5 p.m on Center Court. Matches on the outside courts, which you also have access to on a first come first served basis, will continue into the early evening. For your return back to the hotel you can either take a shuttle or walk.

Our Monday tickets include access to the Club des Loges hospitality area where we have a three course gourmet lunch arranged in Le Village Restaurant. Our group seating is set for 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 10th:
10:00 a.m. After your leisurely breakfast, there will be a professionally-guided walking tour of Monte Carlo that you’re invited to join. In addition to the typical highlights, you’ll be taken to see little-known architectural wonders, stroll landscaped parks, visit spectacular viewpoints, and see unique sculptures and street art. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and guests should have a moderate physical fitness level. We might even sneak in a visit to a local bakery.
5:00 p.m. We meet in the lobby for a sunset drive along the Riviera for our 7:30 gastronomic experience at the 3 star Michelin Mirazur restaurant in the exquisite village of Menton.
Born in La Plata in 1976, Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco's destiny has turned out to be nothing short of exceptional. After working alongside many of the greats, he struck out on his own… and found what he was looking for in Menton. Mirazur is the "last house before Italy" and looks the sky and the open sea straight in the eye: many a visitor has been hypnotised by the exceptional view of the Mediterranean. Supported by a talented team and a firm believer in the benefits of ultra-short food supply chains (his permaculture vegetable garden is proof of this), Mauro Colagreco is at the top of his game. In tune with lunar cycles, transcending the seasons and the region, his cuisine is a daily ode to aromatic plants, flowers, vegetables and citrus fruits. An unforgettable experience.

Thursday, April 11th:
After breakfast, you’re free to explore Monte Carlo at your leisure. Please have your bags packed as we’ll be transferring to the Grand Hotel Four Seasons in Cap Ferrat later in the day.
The rest of the morning and early afternoon are yours to enjoy.
3:30 p.m. We depart the Metropole Hotel for our 25 minute transfer over to the Grand

9:30 a.m. We meet in the lobby for a 15 minute sunset drive to our dinner reservation at the Micheline star Restaurant des Rois in Beaulieu sur Mer.After a delicious breakfast, we’ll enjoy an easy drive through the French countryside to the medieval village of St. Paul de Vence arguably the loveliest perched village you’ll find in the south of France. We’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the highlights followed by a delicous lunch at the restaurant “Le Tilleul” at 1:00 p.m. Our expected return to Cap Ferrat is around 4:30 p.m.

Some ideas include: visit the Picasso Museum in Antibes, stoll through Cannes, check-out Menton, visit Grasse, go shopping in the market in Old Nice, take a hike in Cap Ferrat, play tennis on one of the hotel’s red clay courts, or just relax by their amazing pool. It’s a full day for you to enjoy and explore as you wish.
6:00 p.m.We gather in the lobby for the transfer to our farewell dinner at the beautiful Chateau d’Eza in the village of Eze.
Sunday, April 14th:
Time to say goodbye to new friends. Hugs and kisses and you’re off.
A comfortable transfer to Nice International Airport will be arranged for you.
